Start Debian 6 without X (in text mode)

You can boot Debian 6 without starting X by doing this:

edit /etc/X11/default-display-manager and change as indicated below:

# /usr/sbin/gdm3 (leave this in place in case you want to re-enable X)                                                                                                                                                        false
